Thank you for your interest in the position of Chair or Board Member of the Independent Parliamentary Standards Authority (IPSA).
"We need to restore the reputation of Parliament by establishing a system governing Members' pay and allowances that commands the confidence of both the public and MPs."

The Rt Hon John Bercow MP, the Speaker of the House of Commons.
The Independent Parliamentary Standards Authority (IPSA) is a new and independent body created by the Parliamentary Standards Act 2009. It will provide rigorous scrutiny and review of the allowances scheme for Members of Parliament. The establishment of this new body will represent a break from old practices and put in place a new independent system for the payment of salaries and allowances for MPs. The IPSA will prepare a code of conduct for MPs' financial interests, and support the Commissioner for Parliamentary Investigations, in cases where an MP is paid an allowance it is suspected they should not have been, or may have breached the code of conduct.

The IPSA will be made up of four members and a Chair, with selection to the Authority being on merit and by fair and open competition.
